One of the biggest highlights of the summer is Counselor Skit Night during Second Session. Over the last few years, the staff has augmented the traditional live action skits with pre-recorded videos that highlight life at Camp on an entirely different level.

21 Jul Midseason Trip to Cooperstown, NY

While the staff prepared for the arrival of our Second Session campers, those staying for the entire seven weeks went on a three day, two night to Cooperstown, NY. They visited the Baseball Hall of Fame and also spent some time whacking rocks at the Herkimer Diamond Mine:

03 Jul World Games Team Cheers

As the staff is creating the Orange and Blue teams for the Session, campers are placed on World Games teams as evaluations take place. In addition to playing games on the fields and courts, teams are challenged to come up with a cheer that is presented in front of the entire Boys or Girls camp.

Now that Camp has started we want to keep you informed about all the fun that your child is having here at Camp! We hope that you do so by using our various online outlets to keep up to date with your child’s experience. We would like to take a moment to highlight all the these tools so you are consistently aware of what is happening this summer:

Website: provides access to slide shows from the summer and Staff profiles

Tripp Lake Times: provides frequent posts featuring photos and video during the summer

Susquehannock on Facebook: provides links to content online, news updates

Susquehannock on Twitter: provides links to content online, news updates

RSS Feeds: This is our newest feature and it allows you to receive e-mail updates when certain information is posted. Right now our Tripp Lake Times page and our Photo Gallery are the two areas that have RSS feeds. In order to receive these updates you have to subscribe to the RSS Feed. To do that, follow these instructions:

Mac Users using Mail
Photo Gallery:
1. Go to https://susquehannock.com/gallery.php
2. Click on “Subscribe to Updates” in upper right corner of black area
3. Copy the URL
4. Go to Mail
5. Click on File, then click on “Add RSS Feeds”
6. Follow directions

Tripp Lake Times:
1. Go to http://tripplaketimes.com
2. Scroll down right column to RSS Feeds (underneath the Twitter box), click on the orange icon
3. A new page pops up, go to the right side where is says Actions and click on Subscribe in Mail

Using other RSS Readers (ie. Google Reader)
Photo Gallery:
1. Go to https://susquehannock.com/gallery.php
2. Click on “Subscribe to Updates” in upper right corner of black area
3. Copy the URL

Before we can create our Orange and Blue teams, campers are placed on either Team A or Team B for a group of evaluation contests called World Games. The campers are also given the task of producing a team cheer to be judged before a spirited game of Run Rabbit, Run.
