Cannie worked for 30 years at The Episcopal Academy (Newtown Square, PA), including 11 years teaching and coaching, 17 years as the Head of Lower School and 2 years as Assistant Head of School. She also served as Head of Lower School for 3 years at Germantown Academy (Ft. Washington, PA) and is currently serving as the Academic Dean of Lower School at Girard College (Philadelphia, PA).

Cannie has an A.B. from Sweet Briar College (VA) and an M.A. (Elementary and Secondary Administration) from Villanova University. As an athlete at Sweet Briar, Cannie earned 12 varsity letters in Lacrosse, Field Hockey, and Basketball, and is a charter member of the college’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
