Special Events

Providing an exciting alternative to our daily program, The Susquehannock Camps offers some special events throughout the season. Such events include trips out of camp, special theme days, co-ed events, and socials for older campers.

Our trips program offers campers a chance to visit prominent sites in the surrounding area. These outings are extremely popular with campers of all ages. Past trips have included Niagara Falls, the National Baseball Hall of Fame (in Cooperstown, NY), the local Salt Springs State Park, white water rafting, as well as local professional sporting events.

Co-ed, camp-wide events include activities such as our July 4th Field Days celebration, Olympics, Camper Skit Night, Counselor Skit Night, and other fun-filled activities for all ages. Older campers can participate in weekly co-ed activities, movie outings, and canoe trips.

Each cabin gets an opportunity to go on an overnight to a local camping site, cook their meals over a fire and sleep out under the stars.

Each session culminates with special traditional events, including the Boys’ Orange and Blue Chicken Feed and the Girls’ Orange and Blue Banquet and Candle Float, which provide campers and staff alike with a chance to reflect on their camp experiences.
