Jamie Alvord, a 10-time USA Cycling National Champion from King of Prussia, PA, now resides in Allentown, PA with his wife, Mandy Marquardt. Jamie attended tech school from 10th grade through graduation and joined the Local Union 420 Steamfitters in 2008. Today, he is both a full-time cyclist and a full-time tradesman for the union.
 
Jamie grew up playing various sports – Lacrosse, Cross Country Track and Field (100m, 200m, 400m), Football and Swimming. In high school, he was a rower, specifically a coxswain in a novice 8 and bow seat in a lightweight 4. Jamie started competitively cycling in 2000 at 10 years old, riding and coaching at the velodrome with his father. Jamie stepped away from track cycling in 2018 for two years but returned to win Elite Track Nationals in 2021 and then went on to defend his three National Titles in 2022 and 2023. 
 
At the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, Jamie and the Men’s Team Sprint nearly missed the podium and finished 4th. In 2024, Jamie was an inaugural part of the Men’s Team Sprint and earned a bronze medal at the Pan American Track Continental Championships held at the Velo Sports Center in Carson, CA – the home of the USA Cycling Track Sprint Program.
 
Fun Facts: Jamie’s parents were competitive international cyclists in the 1980s. Jamie learned to ride a two-wheeler at only 2 years old.
