Chris grew up in Saranac Lake, NY. He competed in the 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

Mazdzer made history at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang when he won a silver medal — marking the first medal of any color for a U.S. man in singles Luge. He is the first and currently only non-European to win a medal in the Luge men’s single event.

Mazdzer was re-elected to his third term by his athlete peers to represent them on the executive board of both the US Luge Association and Federation of International Luge. In the spring of 2018, Mazdzer competed on “Dancing with the Stars” and placed fourth in the reality competition.

Mazdzer is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing. He married his wife Mara Mazdzer in May 2020, and both welcomed son Nicolai Mazdzer into the world in April 2021.
