Amobi Okugo is a former professional Soccer player, who now is an entrepreneur, media host, and philanthropist. He has been recognized as a Forbes 30 under 30 recipient.
Amobi was drafted in the first round of the 2010 MLS Super Draft from UCLA and has since played over 200 competitive games for teams including Philadelphia, Orlando, Kansas City, Portland, and Austin. He was a USMNT mainstay from Under-14 through Under-23, competing in the 2012 Olympic qualifying cycle in addition to many other international tournaments.
Amobi is also the founder of A Frugal Athlete, an online financial media platform that promotes prudent financial practices and smart career decisions among professional athletes and student athletes. The platform helps athletes make, manage, and multiply their money through financial education and athlete empowerment. He also founded The Ok U Go Foundation to help provide resources and opportunities to children from low-income backgrounds through athletic, educational, and social programs.
Outside of Amobi’s business ventures, he enjoys hiking, flying his drone, hosting trivia nights, reading, watching the latest tv show, and hanging out with family and friends.
