The Camp Susquehannock location lends itself to a variety of outdoor activities. Many of these activities engender self-reliance and nurture a respect for the environment.
The Climbing Tower and Zipline is one of the most popular camp attractions. Campers either climb the tower as a cabin group or as an individual; cabin mates support and cheer for one another as they strive to reach the top. This activity encourages teamwork and goal setting, as well as a sense of achievement. Certified camp personnel run and monitor all climbs.
Mountain Biking is also popular for campers aged 10 years and older. Beautiful mountain biking trails extend across the camp property. Campers learn safety procedures including helmet use, braking techniques, and safe riding distances, then participate in trail rides under counselor supervision.
The Camp Susquehannock grounds also include many nature walks and hiking trails where campers learn about their natural surroundings in nature study groups and develop a respect for the environment.
Once per session, each cabin group experiences an overnight camping trip on camp property. After a hike to the campsite, campers are taught about building a fire, cooking safely, and sleeping in the outdoors. These experiences are so popular that many campers sign up for the optional overnights offered at the end of each session.
